It’s the beginning of a new year with lots of new possibilities and new experiences in store.
There are new people to meet and new places to visit. And in my case as a real estate advisor, new clients and new homes to sell. Old ones, too.
Somewhere out there, there’s a new app or consumer product designed to help us stay better connected or to be more productive.
But sometimes no matter how many new things we add to our lives to make them easier, we actually make them more complicated.
Among my goals for 2017 is to do more by doing less.
Saying “no” to requests and opportunities a bit more often in order to say “yes” to those things that matter the most like spending time with family, giving my clients a better experience, and nurturing existing relationships as much as or more than creating new ones..
I’ll be slower to take on new commitments, but I’ll be more committed to fulfilling the commitments I already have.
And I’ll know I can better serve more clients and more members of my community by delegating more responsibilities to others so that I can take care of what I’m best at, which is working directly with my clients, properly positioning and promoting my listings, and creating content that is informative and, hopefully, entertaining. .
I hope you will wish me well on my endeavor to simplify in 2017.
I’ve already started by deleting the most distracting social media apps from my phone and my favorite tablet. I can still use their websites, but I won’t be notified every 15 seconds when someone posts something new.
Best wishes to you in pursuit of your goals and aspirations, and Happy New Year!
